ZTE has come up with the latest in its Smartphone series ZTE Grand X. This is an Android powered device. It is said to be fast in processing, trendy and stylish but these are not the only attractive features, there is more than meets the eye. Let us find out more about this Smartphone by ZTE.
Design and hardware
The design of the ZTE Grand X is trendy and stylish at the first glance. Through not exactly unique or something that stands out on its own but enough to grab attention of a user. Small and handy this phone measures 4.3 inches of screen display with a bit of chunk as the thickness measures at 10mm. The corners of the phone are rounded unlike other brands that are more into cornered edges looks or angular designs. Perhaps this is the reason why this phone is easy to hold in the palm of the hand without the edges sinking into your hands.
Following the same convention as the other touch screen phones Grand X too has essential key controls located at the bottom of the screen, home, settings, back and search. The front top row consists of a VGA camera for video-chat and light sensor to sense favorable lighting conditions. The top right side has a power button, on the left side you will find an audio jack measuring 3.5mm.
The front panel has a plastic finish and the backside has a rubber coating that might act as a protection in case you drop it to cushion it. Overall, the phone seems to be in a plastic finish except the backside. This phone has a primary 5 mp Camera with a flash that is located at the back panel of the phone for capturing images and enable video recording. With the flash facility it is easy to capture decent pictures in low light.
The display screen is an LCD with a resolution of 960x540, it is capacitated with multi-touch technology making it smoother to navigate and responsive to touch. You get a 256 ppi this enables in projecting clear images and sharp display. The colors and the contrast are something to swear by. However, you just need to be careful with the brightening effect, often in the sunlight you may find it a bit disappointing.
Performance and Software
The performance of the phone is well rewarded with the Nvidia Tegra 2 (dual core processor) with 1GHz. Another interesting thing added is the software that is capacitated for enhancing the graphic quality, ULP GeForce GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). The only disappoint it seems to have is the RAM with mere 512 MB one cannot expect it to churn out hard-core gaming activities or streaming videos. This only seems good enough for performing basic web surfing functionality like social media browsing, e-mails and search functionality.
You can still perform some light gaming activities that are made possible with graphics kit. You can easily work your way through games like Dead Trigger without any lag in performance.
